Our Philosophy


We offer our clients a non-judgemental, supportive, inclusive, anti-racist approach to psychotherapy. We take your privacy and confidentiality very seriously. Ours is a holistic method. We look at the person in the context of family, friends, work/study, and community.
Our style of therapy is eclectic, including elements of cognitive-behavioural (CBT), narrative, feminist, psychoanalytic, and self-psychology. We are constantly upgrading our knowledge base through workshops and active peer supervision.
We help our clients become aware of and accepting of their feelings. This new-found awareness can then allow them to separate feelings from behaviours. Clients find that this helps them feel more in control of their lives. Emotions are natural and can lead to important insights; dismissing them can lead to self-destructive actions. Moreover, we help clients access more of their hidden strengths (Philipp, Eva, 1979).
Our clients appreciate relatively quick access to us, as well as the safety and security of the therapeutic relationships that we foster. We practice a supportive, client-focused type of therapy. This allows our clients to direct their growth at their own pace.
